WHY SPS
Sustainable Performance Solutions LLC (SPS), is a South Florida-based firm providing commercial energy audits, from the most basic to complex investment-grade; general energy efficiency and sustainability consulting services, including assistance with LEED credits; and specialized ventilation strategies for facilities with critical indoor environmental quality requirements. The firm's principal, Lawrence (Larry) Clark, is a graduate engineer with nearly 30 years of industry experience, much of it focused on energy solutions for commercial, institutional and industrial facilities. He is a LEED AP with O+M specialty credential, a qualified LEED Charrette Facilitator and a Certified Energy Auditor, and is a recognized subject matter expert on metering/sub-metering and advanced ventilation strategies.
Before launching SPS, Clark served as Director of Corporate Business Development for Hill York, then Florida's oldest, largest and greenest independently-owned mechanical contractor. He was part of its Hygreen Energy Solutions group from its launch and he continued to assist them, as a consultant, during the transition following his departure. His previous experience includes such diverse assignments as president, vice president of sales and marketing, and regional sales manager at MEPCO (formerly the Dunham Division of Dunham-Bush); and regional sales manager at Vapor Power, when it was part of Westinghouse Air Brake.
Clark is the author of more than a dozen peer-reviewed HVAC and energy related articles including "Building Oversight Management: M&V and More", "Multiparameter Demand-Controlled Ventilation" and "Benefits of Ice-Based Thermal Energy Storage". His most recent technical article, and the first in a non-engineering publication (Infection Control Today, September 2010), is "Reducing HAIs Through Continuous PM2.5 Particle Counting", which describes a non-proprietary method of reducing healthcare-acquired infections using commercially available off-the-shelf components. He is also a frequent presenter and lecturer on metering and sub-metering and advanced ventilation strategies and is a member of various professional organizations including ASHRAE, IEEE and USGBC South Florida, and he serves on BOMA's Florida Energy Committee and the City of Pompano Beach Recycling and Solid Waste Committee. >> Top
